Math Trackers

I'm known to some at school as the DATA QUEEN! I love data and numbers and using it to guide my instruction. But let's face it, no one likes keeping up with 10,000 data sheets and running records and more. So I am working on creating a one stop shop set up for all base subjects. Math was my first goal to tackle. It's the easiest to break down.

Everything we tackle in our school here in Florida is Florida Standards Based which is just a way of saying we are common core. So using my standards and baseline goals for each quarter I came up with this awesome one page tracker for the year! Thats right, ONE PAGE, PER STUDENT, FOR THE YEAR!!! It doesn't get any easier than that!!! Check it out here!

Updating Centers!

I started with my reading centers. My basic outline of centers are the following:

  • ABC's
  • BME Sounds
  • CVC
  • Onset/Rime
  • Rhyme
  • Sight Words
  • Word Families
  • Sentence Building
From here I really start to think about the time of year that I plan on utilizing it. I started with my ABC centers. I have a large variety of centers to pull from. Some are TpT and some are homemade. TpT centers include ABC upper and lowercase matching. Most of these I download as freebies but I recently bought these Monster Centers for the beginning of school and I LOVE them!
Check them out here!

My second favorite center is my bottle cap center. Using Juice bottle caps (the mini juice caps it what I use, thankfully I have a toddler that loves them and a Sams Club that carries at 24 pack for $6) I write one letter on top (26 upper and 26 lower) Now I can have students put them in ABC order, Match Upper and Lower or use them for a quick identify formative. (You can also then bump this set up to the CVC centers from printable princess!

Thats all for tonight! Check in tomorrow for the next center overview!

Summer Re-Vamp!

So I didn't succeed at my goal this year of blogging my classroom. This year our family went through a medical rollercoaster and honestly priorities took over! But this summer I am back at it. I am staying in Kinder for another year and just moved classrooms. This means I have time to re-vamp my centers, storage and more. As well as create new TPT items. I am currently building out my sub-tub binder. (More to come on that one!) So for now, stay tuned and more to come!!!
